Hi, welcome to Happy Hound Haven

We are Richard and Paula, both in our early fifties, and we have always harboured a deep passion and love for animals.

From a young age, if you had asked us about our dream careers, we would have both unequivocally said, "working with animals." This aspiration has remained unchanged throughout our lives, and we have always believed that one day our dream would become a reality.

During her career in customer service, Paula dedicated her spare time to volunteering as a home checker for the RSPCA. She traveled extensively throughout the Leeds and Wakefield areas, assessing homes and completing detailed reports.

We are committed to continuous improvement to provide the highest quality care for your pets. To this end, we have dedicated significant time and effort to successfully complete specialized courses in animal care and behaviour.

From understanding dietary needs to mastering handling techniques, we have invested in comprehensive training to ensure a safe and enriching environment for your furry friends.

I trained as an Electrical Engineer in the late 1980s and pursued this career for most of my life. My work took me across the UK and occasionally to Europe.

One summer evening, after a heartfelt conversation, we decided to follow our true passion. We chose to leave our successful careers behind and start a personalised home boarding and walking business.

Having been pet parents for over 25 years, we bring a wealth of experience and fully understand the challenges of leaving your dog while away on holiday.
